INTEGRATED MATH 3 – MR. HAGERMAN
COURSE OUTLINE
Each student must bring to class everyday their chrome book, a pencil/pen, a binder, and paper. The library will check out a graphing calculator to you for use in this class. Your chrome book or phone can access an online calculator but learning the features of the hand held graphing calculator is necessary and will be taught in this course. Therefore you should bring it with you to class everyday too.
CLASS PROCEDURE
This course will be divided into units that follow the current curriculum. Typically, a new topic will be introduced each day or so, and class work/homework is assigned on most days. Students will be required to take notes in class as provided by the teacher. There may be quizzes within a unit and a test will conclude each unit. Homework assignments will be randomly collected. The homework assignments selected will be graded on an effort to correctly solve the problem, appropriate work shown, and completeness. I encourage students to work together on homework assignments. No credit will be given to any late assignment.
Students absent for any reason will get two school days to turn in a completed assignment upon their return. Students who are absent on the day of a test most likely will be required to take the test on the day they return. A make-up version could be given.
GRADING POLICY
Items that account for your grade include tests, quizzes, performance tasks, final exams, and homework. Homework will make up no more than 15% of your final grade. There are no retakes for any tests, quizzes, performance tasks, or finals. Therefore, it is important to be ready and prepared for these assessments. An accountability bonus may be added into each graded unit. Students are expected to take any assessment on the scheduled day and will lose any bonus offered for that unit if the assessment is taken later. Students may arrange to take an assessment early if they know they will be absent on the scheduled day with no bonus deduction. Students are also expected to be in class on time and are expected to use class time productively. Any student who is tardy, misses excessive amounts of class time, or wastes class time will lose bonus points. There will be a final at the end of each semester. This will be averaged in at approximately 20% to 40% to determine you semester grade. The letter grade for this class will be based on the following:
A = 90% to 100%, B = 80% to 89%, C = 65% to 79%, D = 55% to 69%, F = below 55%
